Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. takes pleasure in announcing Bharat Petroleum Scholarship for Higher Studies and invites applications from students who have demonstrated all around brilliance and have a passion to achieve excellence in their chosen field. The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Scholarship for Higher Studies was instituted by the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a public sector undertaking of the Government of India, Bharat Petroleum Corporation of India Limited or BPCL came into existence in August 1997, due to the renaming of Bharat Refineries Limited. Bharat Refineries Limited was in turn formed when the Government of India took over the Burmah Shell Group of Companies in January 1976.Bharat Petroleum Scholarships for Higher StudiesThe Bharat Petroleum Scholarships for Higher Studies was initiated in 2003-04. It has been designed with a view to help Indian students who have demonstrated all round brilliance and have a passion to achieve excellence in their chosen field and have obtained admission for Post Graduate programmes in India OR abroad. Till date we have selected 6 batches of scholars pursuing their higher studies abroad and 3 batches of scholars pursuing higher studies in India.General Eligibility Criteria and Other informationThe scheme is open to* Indian nationals.* Students pursuing Post Graduate Degree Course Abroad.* Students up to the age of 25 years (born on or after 1.10.1981), who have secured at least 60% at Graduate level.* Students with confirmed admission to any full time Post Graduate Degree Course (in any field of education other than fine arts), for a duration upto two years, at any recognized University/Institute of repute abroad.
* Students pursuing higher studies in Universities/Institutes abroad for which firm admissions have been obtained for sessions starting between July 2006 and November 2006.* Scholarship will not be given for any Research / PhD work.* Candidates who are receiving part scholarship from any source should indicate the details, as requested in the on-line application form. This will not be a bar for consideration.* Extent of scholarship awarded, i.e., full or part amount, shall be at the sole discretion of Bharat Petroleum.
Value of Scholarships :The amount of financial assistance under the scholarship varies on a case to case basis and depends solely on the discretion of BPCL Application Procedure for BPCL Scholarships:
