Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child in India, Post Graduate Scholarships Information
The University Grants Commission, UGC based on the recent initiative of MHRD, has introduced a Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child with the purpose of supporting higher education through scholarship to such girls who happen to be the only child in their families and also to provide incentive for the parents to observe small family norm.
Eligibility for Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child Any single girl child of her parents will be eligible under the scheme. The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in Master's degree programmes in any recognized university or a Post Graduate college.
It is expected from the University/PG College/Institution where such students have taken admission in first year of PG Course during academic session 2008-10 that no tuition fee will be charged from such girls should they decide to pursue their Master?s Degree in university & colleges covered under 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act.
Documents to be submitted at the time of applying for Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child:
Proof of admission to Master's degree course in a recognized Indian University An affidavit from the parents/girl child duly attested by the First Class Magistrate/Gazetted Officer mentioning that she is the only child in the family. Procedure for application for Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child:
Eligible students who are pursuing postgraduate 1st year course in any of the above mentioned fields in the current year, i.e., 2009 - 2010 may submit their application for the above scholarship giving full details like name, father's name, date of birth, permanent and postal address, name of the undergraduate course, percentage of marks obtained along with merit certificate, postgraduate course being pursued etc. (with all relevant attested copies of documents), may be submitted to
